Guild master talk

Pinoy Gaming Network in cooperation with E-games Philippines recently concluded the Guildmasters’ Forum Event on Sept.24 at MilkyWay cafe

Nix and I came to the event and actually we were the early birds to arrive! hahaha!

Then after a while Ragnarok beta player and also the first to became hunter in chaos server came, known as "Biogesic" in chaos server. also the former Ragnarok Game Master Phaige came to the event.

Guildmasters from Cabal, Ran, ZX, Audition,RF Online, Ragnarok Online and even World of Warcraft came! and the Red Elite guild(also valhalla server)came, nix and i had a chance to have a few good talk with them.

The event started with a short introduction and a talk on the IBM study delivered by Pinoy Gaming Network’s own David Ralph Lleno(also known as the Ragnarok Game Hero Sir David)
He briefly touched the subject of the different reasons why online guild leadership has a strong correlation with real life leadership and even leadership in the corporate world.

Well... What he said back then was true... and reflected upon me....

There was also a video clip about online facts that 1 out 8 getting married today met online, then someone said "We have a living proof here!" and Sir David was laughing ehehehe!

He was followed by Gil Edeza President of E-Games and a pioneer of the Philippine online gaming industry.
Mr. Edeza discussed the history of Philippine online gaming and its current state as well as its future outlook, citing that the way things are going poses great opportunities for guildmasters to make better their online influence and apply it to the real world.

Mr. Edeza also said we must look forward in the following months about "Gamers" being "Professional Gamers"

Last and certainly not the least, the keynote speaker on leadership was welcomed, Senator Chiz Escudero.
He discussed the vast similarities of the online world to the real world and the consequences of one’s actions in both. He encouraged guildmasters to use their influence in the online world to make valuable contributions to society at large, the response to his speech was tremendous.

Questions came pouring in during the open forum regarding how guildmasters could use their influence to positively contribute to Philippine society. Senator Escudero promptly answers with an analogy of using the guild as a “rotary club”. He urged that guildmasters like me should discuss things that matter in society with our guildmembers and possibly create events to address these issues. The senator went as far as to say that even if they don’t support him, as long as they engage and get themselves involved (positively) is already a step in the right direction.
There was also one question about being scammed in-game and Senator Chiz asked what can a guildmaster do about it, others answered "wage war agains't the guild where the scammer belong" and Senator Chiz answered " That's Interesting!" everyone laughed!!

Senator Chiz playing Ragnarok(valhalla)

The event ended with photo ops and a raffle that had a few guildmasters walk away with a Chiz Escudero boble head and one very lucky guildmaster from Cabal Online bringing home a brand new iPod from Mobil 1.
And lastly the food was good! yum! yum!

All in all the event was good I've learn something... But up until now i don't know what kind of a guildmaster i am.......

6 Years of Rok On!

I suddenly stumbled upon Moderator Anakin's thread at ragnaboards... Let me share what he says....

"Ragnarok Online, the Philippines’ first Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG), celebrates its 6th anniversary, and it’s as strong as ever. And while there have been lots of MMORPGs that made their mark in the Philippines in the last few years, like they say, you never forget your first.

For many of us gamers, pRO was our first taste of the world of online games, and have at one point called the city of Prontera our virtual ‘home away from home’. Our passion for the game even influenced the culture and lifestyle of Pinoys, to the point where “amp” and “chicksilog” are now part of everyday lingo. In fact, the strength of our gaming community gave the Philippines the honor of hosting the Ragnarok World Championships in 2008, making it the first time the highly-anticipated international event has ever been held outside of its home base Korea. How’s that for people power?

It’s been 6 years of action-filled fun and excitement, and Philippine Ragnarok Online is ready for more with the coming of the 3rd jobs! So be a part of the celebration of the first and still one of the biggest MMORPG in the Philippines!

Rok on!"

I suddenly remembered my beta days... my first character was a Merchant and the build for my character was a big mess! hahaha!

6 years of playing ragnarok huh? what did i gain after six years of playing it?... i'm just your average player... back then our guild wasn't able to compete in any championship/server eliminations...

All i can say is after playing six years of ragnarok i have met some really great people... all of those wonderful experience... they won't die in my memories...

As my other friends ask me why don't i get tired of playing ragnarok? I simply answer them...

"It's not the gameplay... It's about memories"

Yoshito Usui Forever

I was watching BBC when i heard the news about the death of the mangaka Yoshito Usui whom created the famous Crayon Shin-chan.

The reports says that Yoshito Usui, was found dead in the mountains of Gunma prefecture after apparently falling to his death off a cliff. Usui had reportedly gone missing on the 11th of the month after telling his family he was going for a day-hike in the mountains.

I suddenly wonder and immediately search to the internet what will happen to the on-going manga of Crayon Shin-chan?

Reports says that the late
Usui had already submitted his art for two more installments that Futabasha's Manga Town magazine will continue serializing the Crayon Shin-chan until its December issue.

It's just sad.... that the mangaka won't able to finish his most celebrated work....

Rest in peace Yoshito Usui-sama....

10 Random thoughts of a random mind

10. I don't know why... but people these days are a bit err..... they simply don't like being called "childish" but the way they act is... anyway if they don't want to be called "childish" don't act like a kid.... it's just simple as that.....

9. I'll just share this text message that i received from a friend yesterday....
"You will never know what you're good at until you try.
When it doesn't work, call it an experiment and never a failure..."

8. Should we stop loving the person we loved deeply just because someone owns them now? yeah... everyone has the right to fall in love yet not all of us can be loved by that person... sad isn't it? but we have to face it... But i don't think we should loving them... because friendship is also a wonderful form of love ^^

7. It's been five months if i remember it correctly.... one of my guild member had a quarrel with his long time friend, it's because of a work related and his friend's girlfriend... yep you got it right "his friend's girlfriend" because all of them work under the same office... anyway i won't tell really what happened between them... i'm just happy that last week my guild member told me that he had an conversation with his friend that both of them are working to regain their lost friendship.

6. Is crying, emoting and being sentimental are a bad thing to do? maybe when we overdo it... dunno... but crying, emoting and being sad and other things isn't really bad... at least we know we're still a human being with a human emotions, it's just part of being a real and complete person ^^

5. Sometimes my friends ask me where do i get my ideas how to solve some of their problems... let me just say... "every home has it's own problem" ^^;

4. I miss drinking coffee!! it's been a month since i fell ill... the doctor said i'm acidic... i'm not allowed to eat nor drink anything with caffeine... O.X

3. July 3-6 our entire family was at Dumaguete for our family reunion all we did is eat,eat and eat! LOL! we got our chance to swim in a very unique beach(well not exactly a beach because the sands got pilled up in the middle of the sea and it's called "sand bar" O.X) also that was my first time to see a dolphins in person O.X

Sorry bad photography! XD

2. Wew! at last i've had my own time to draw for myself! hahaha! here's my latest deviation!

1. I just got 3hours of sleep today because i've had a lot of rush work... i suddenly missed studying at school because of the manga that i've been editing... all of those school scenes... it's been a lot of years... *sigh*
